Do you ever wonder what that green flashing light you see on vehicles sometimes is?
Well our first Cobden Beavers group asked this question on Monday night, April 23, at their weekly meeting. The answer: The volunteer fire fighters making there way to the station so the can go out on a call.
One of the wonderful things about being part of a Scout group in a small town is you never know when you might get to go on a spontaneous field trip.
We were sitting outside doing our opening ceremony in this wonderful warm weather, when one of the volunteer firefighters came over and asked if we would like a tour of the fire trucks. Of course, the Beaver youth said “yes”.
We had a healthy meal planning activity to do first for one of our camps coming up in June, as the Beavers need to plan a healthy meal for the other youth.
When we were done the planning, we headed over to the fire station and we got a tour of the fire trucks and had some of the equipment explained to us and why they used it. After the tour was done our youth were able to try on the jackets and helmets. There were plenty of smiles from ear to ear.
The Beaver group really enjoyed this spur of the moment trip to Whitewater fire Station. We would like to thank them for taking time to show us around.
THANK -YOU!
