Staff at Caressant Care Retirement and Nursing Home, as well as from the Township of Whitewater Region, held a joint fire extinguisher training course, which is mandated for both organizations. Darwin Fleming of Fire-Alert in North Bay provided in-class instruction of about 20 minutes in the home’s cafeteria. Once moving outdoors, each person had to demonstrate they could use a fire extinguisher. Staff at Caressant Care must go through this training each year.
