Getting 150 minutes of cardiovascular activity per week during the colder, darker days of winter should be easy this winter when you “Get W.I.T.H. It! “
Beachburg and Cobden public schools have generously opened their hallways every Monday and Wednesday in Beachburg and every Tuesday in Cobden from 5 – 7 pm. Everyone is welcome…
This is a free program to walk with neighbours, friends and family for fun and fellowship in a safe, warm place. Drop-in at any time and walk for 10 minutes or the whole 2 hours!
The Get W.I.T.H. It! program in both schools is designated as Heart Wise Exercise and meets specific criteria developed by the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. For more information about Heart Wise Exercise please visit www.heartwiseexercise.ca
So come on out and bring your own favorite music with you or walk to the beat of the fun, motivating tunes we play in the school. You’ll need to bring water and a good pair of clean, indoor walking shoes to change into so we can keep the schools tidy. Please enjoy your snack or meal BEFORE or AFTER the walking program so we can keep the schools allergy-safe for students.
If you would like to be a ‘Get W.I.T.H. It’ volunteer, if you have special needs or if you need a ride please call Lara at the Whitewater Bromley Community Health Centre (WBCHC) at 613-582-3685. More details are on our website @ www.wbchc.on.ca/ProgramsServices/gwi.htm
Come on out and Get W.I.T.H. It! You’ll be glad you did!
P.S…..no running in the halls!
