Janet Henderson Smith
It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Henderson Smith (nee Watson) acknowledge her passing on Sunday, December 4th, 2016. Born in Airdrie, Scotland to William White Watson and Janet McIntosh Watson (Nita), who have both predeceased her. Janet was also predeceased by her loving husband, Capt. T.H.D. Smith (Smitty to most people and Hutton to each of us) whom she travelled the world with, and recently by her younger sister, Margaret Parrish (Michael) of Comox, B.C. Janet was a loving mother and friend to her two daughters, Karen (Bryce) Ramlo of Mayne Island, B.C. and Moira (Godfrey) D’Aoust of Westmeath. Grandmother to Andrew (Noha Sedky), Warren and Erin Ramlo (Adam McIntyre) of Vancouver, Travis D’Aoust of Ottawa and Allie (Däg) Militky of Carleton Place. Great-grandmother to Kailey Rose D’Aoust (Ottawa), Nourah and Taymour Ramlo (Vancouver). Great-granny Jinny was Nourah’s special pen pal.
Special thanks go to the staff of Riverview Heights in Pembroke who were a part of Mom’s life for the past three years and to staff of Pembroke Hospital and Marianhill Palliative Care in Pembroke for their support.
Janet will be cremated and her family will honour her life and her passing at a private gathering. Although Janet loved flowers we ask that those wishing to make a donation in her memory please support a charity of their choice.
We will miss this loving, dynamic lady as she goes on her new journey. She was one of a kind and extremely special to each of us.
Rest in peace, Mom.
