It’s expected an acting fire chief for Whitewater Region will be appointed today, Thursday, July 27 during a special meeting.
Chief Administrative Officer Robert Tremblay said under the municipal bylaws, there has to be a fire chief.
“We are looking at someone from the outside, who has been a chief somewhere else,” he said.
It’s expected this person will be the acting fire chief for anywhere between two to five months, CAO Tremblay said.
