The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 275 calls for service during the past week.
Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 12 domestic disputes during the past week. One male was charged with uttering a threat, one male was charged with two counts of uttering a threat, and one male was charged with forcible confinement, three counts of assault and six counts of domestic mischief. No other criminal offences took place.
Break and Enter
A garage on Bell Street in Arnprior was entered sometime in the past two weeks. An Xbox One game system and approximately 15 Nintendo 64 games were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry and there are no suspects. Provincial Constable (PC) Mark Cranford is investigating.
Robbery
Several people are facing charges after three suspects forced their way into an apartment and robbed a victim. Police were called to the scene on Highway 60 in Renfrew on Sunday, July 23 shortly after 6 a.m. The victim advised a male and two females forced their way into the apartment in the early morning hours, threatened the occupants and stole several items. The suspects have been identified and charges are pending. PC Tina Hunt is leading the investigation.
Thefts
Several thefts from unlocked vehicles occurred during the past week. Stolen property includes a ring, loose change, sunglasses, ownership and insurance cards, tools, an emergency kit and a set of tires on rims from the back of a pick-up truck. Vehicle owners are encouraged to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables.
Marine Patrols
The OPP marine unit has been busy on area waterways ensuring people are obeying the law regarding equipment, licencing and alcohol on boats. Three people were charged last week for having open alcohol on a boat, and one person was charged with not having enough life jackets on board for all passengers.
