PEMBROKE – A local company is providing a defibrillator that will travel to agricultural events throughout Renfrew County.
M & R Feeds Micksburg-Pembroke-Shawville and DuPont Pioneer donated $3,600 to the County of Renfrew Public Access Defibrillator program as part of its Community Investment Corporate Giving Grant program.
The grant will be specifically used to purchase one defibrillator that will be placed at agricultural special events, as well as provide free CPR and defibrillator training to members hosting these events.
“Having access to the right equipment and appropriate training could mean life or death in the case of an emergency,” said Lance Gibson, DuPont Pioneer account manager. “We are pleased to support the County of Renfrew Public Access Defibrillator program by helping to ensure the right equipment and training is available to the public.”
Robert Blackwell, county co-ordinator for the defibrillator program said, “The goal is to supply special agricultural events with a defibrillator to increase safety and save lives. The donation from DuPont Pioneer will allow us to focus on the agricultural community, which is substantial in our area.”
