The 2017 sunshine list, which shows the top money earners in the public sector, has been released.
There are 131,741 employees on the list earning salaries and benefits that total over $16.8 billion. There were 123,410 on the 2016 list.
Locally, there is one person from Whitewater Region; 34 from the County of Renfrew; 35 from Pembroke Regional Hospital; 17 from Renfrew Victoria Hospital; 49 from the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board and 101 from the Renfrew County District School Board.
At the top of the list is Ontario Power Generation Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Lyash, who was paid $1,554,456.95.
In Whitewater Region, Chief Administrative Officer Robert Tremblay made $111,068.71.
At the county level, the highest paid was Chief Administrative Officer Jim Hutton at $206,786.35 down to the lowest of $100,290.06, which was an advanced care paramedic.
At Pembroke Regional Hospital, Pierre Noel, president and chief executive officer, was listed at $303,174, and going down to $100,058.59 for the manager of regional base hospital.
Randy Penney, president and chief executive officer of Renfrew Victoria Hospital, brought home $273,000 while the lowest was $100,895, the nurse manager of the complex continuing care.
Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski was paid $132,867.
