The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 214 calls for service from Monday, February 11 to Sunday, February 17.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 18 domestic disputes during the past week. One male was charged with assault, mischief and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. One female was charged with fail to comply with undertaking conditions. One male was charged with mischief. If you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. Contact Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice or the safety of a shelter at 1-800-267-4930. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. They can be reached at 613-649-2852 or toll free at 1-877-568-5730. In emergencies call 9-1-1.

Break and Enter

Provincial Constable (PC) Bookholt is investigating a break and enter to a hotel room in Arnprior. The hotel room was entered by an unknown party on February 13. Items taken from the room included vehicle keys, DVDs and CDs.

On February 16, PC Andrechek investigated an attempted break and enter to a residence on Madawaska Street, in Arnprior. A male attempted to enter the residence through the main entrance. The male was described as tall, slim build, wearing a red jacket, short orange beard and to be approximately 40 years of age. The Renfrew OPP is reminding home owners to keep their residence secured and to report any suspicious activity to police. If you witness or are the home owner and attempts are made by an unknown party to enter your residence please report immediately to police if possible, do not delay in reporting.

Traffic Enforcement

On February 15, 2019 PC O’Connor was conducting traffic enforcement on Hwy 17 in McNab/Braeside Township. As a result of a traffic stop, 21-year-old Boen Bainbridge of Jacksonville was issued a summons for race a motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 15.

Theft

Sergeant Briscoe is investigating a theft from a business located Arnprior. On February 12, a female described as approximately 25 years of age, about five foot five inches tall and 150 pounds, entered the business. The female left the business with a six pack of Molson Canadian beer and two bottles of rum without making an attempt to purchase the items.
