Melvin “Mel” Vis passed away at Marianhill Hospice on February 21 at the age of 76. Mel Vis of Pembroke, beloved husband of Carolyn Vis (nee Geisler). Loving father to Stephen Vis (Jacquie Daniels) of Calgary and Erin Vis (Andrew Millar) of Kingston. Cherished grandfather of Reagan. Son of the late Andrew Vis. Dear brother to Mike Vis (Wilma) of Thunder Bay; Janet Jones (Orville) of Pembroke and Florence Vaughan (late David) of North Gower. Predeceased by Atje MycKatyn (late John) and Bonnie Ryan (late Garry). Also survived by brothers-in-law Doug Geisler (Dolores) of Tavistock and William Geisler (Gayle) of Mount Forest; as well as many nieces and nephews. Respecting Mel’s wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Ottawa for medical research. A memorial service and celebration of Mel’s life will be held at a later date.
