Barbara Kranz passed away peacefully with family by her side at Hospice Renfrew, on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the age of 81. Loving wife of the late Harold Kranz. She leaves to mourn her birth son, Steve Rheault, and her daughter Kimberly Laforest (Mario Briski), her grandsons Liam and Rogan Laforest as well as Aiden and Bowie Rheault. Barbara will be fondly remembered by Gerry Laforest as well as her sisters Maureen (Moon) Power, Jane Zohr and Joanne Hoelke as well as her brothers Dermott, Jon, Mark and Shaun. She is the oldest daughter of the late Leo & Ellen O’Reilly and is also predeceased by her brother Brian, and sisters Erin Sadler and Sharon O’Reilly. Barbara was a teacher with the Renfrew County Board of Education for 35 years and taught at Sherwood Public in Barry’s Bay, Round Lake Centre, Killaloe Public and Eganville District Schools. When she retired in 1994, she and Harold took up hobby farming on the Kranz family farm where they had Highland cattle and a great garden! They retired from farming and became winter snowbirds in Labelle, Florida where they made more new friends and had many laughs over the years. Friends called at Zohr Family Funeral Home in Eganville on Boxing Day. The funeral service was held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at St. John’s United Church in Golden Lake. Spring interment will be in the Golden Lake United Cemetery.
