What can I say Beachburg? You were terrific!
The parade, the Opening Ceremonies, the volunteerism, the decorations, the cooperation and the sheer joy everyone knowing they were part of something great. We all have special moments in our lives and this was one of them.
I had a front row center seat for the opening ceremonies, the best view in the house. While the entertainment was wonderful, my focus was the two bleachers seating the athletes. I watched the athletes watching the event. That made it all worthwhile. They loved it and felt appreciated. These athletes receive almost no funding and make huge personal sacrifices to train and compete.
You made them feel special. Good on you, Beachburg.
