Pembroke — The Black and White Gala Committee has been planning one of Renfrew County’s most highly anticipated black tie affairs, and everyone – businesses, families and individuals – is encouraged to attend.
Taking place Saturday, October 13 at the Garrison Petawawa Normandy Officers’ Mess, hospital, community and corporate philanthropists will gather for the 13th annual Gala to celebrate the achievements in regional health care.
“I’m so proud of the progress we’ve made together as a community to advance health care services for our families,” remarked Gala Chair Laura Carroll.
Over the years, the Galas have raised more than $1.15 million to help support much-needed health care services like dialysis, maternal and child care, and bringing an MRI to the region, she said.
On what to expect of the Gala, Ms. Carroll said, “This year’s theme is ‘a Starlit Night,’ recognizing our spectacular constellation of donors and setting the perfect back drop for a dazzling night to remember.”
At $175 per ticket, guests of the Black and White Gala will enjoy a wonderful four-course dinner among stars, catered by Ullrich’s, and a splendid night of dancing, with live music by the energetic, Georgian Triangle-based trio, Strange Potatoes – who opened for Great Big Sea’s Sean McCann just last year.
For added excitement, the PRH Foundation is hosting a raffle. First prize is a Florida getaway package – which includes a one-week stay at a beautiful Orlando villa, a limo ride from the Pembroke area to the Ottawa Airport, a $1,000 airfare voucher, a $300 Orlando car rental voucher, and a $200 gift card to Universal Studios (prize valued at $4,273 and sponsored by Mackinnon Water Solutions, Normandeau’s Car Care, Dean Burchart Royal LePage Real Estate, Marlin Travel, The Insurance Man, Simply Stacie, Travel Only, and Dean Sinclair Chartered Professional Accountants). Second prize is a sparkling white gold 0.7 carat diamond ring (prize valued at $3,390 and sponsored by Star-Set Jewellers). Third prize is two tickets to next year’s Black and White Gala (prize valued at $350 and sponsored by Midas).
The draws will take place on the night of the Gala at 10:30 p.m., with all proceeds from the raffle going towards the $2.5 million Cutting Edge Campaign, which supports the Regional Orthopaedic Program and much needed upgrades to the PRH Surgical Floor.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at the PRH Foundation Office, Moncion Metro, Custom Draperies & Blinds, Sandstone Imports, and Star-Set Jewellers for $15 each, 5/$60, or 10/$100.
