Nicholson said this was a ‘temporary’ plan and that the issue must be resolved soon.

Reeve Cathy Regier asked if there was a safety concern, which CAO Trembley denied, saying it was only an inability to use the launches due to ‘craters’.

Councillor Olmstead said he received concerns about the boat launch ‘on a nearly daily basis’ and stated the urgency of fixing this issue.

CAO Trembley stated that temporary fixes will not help the issue, and with dewatering and permits required, the issue is too complicated to solve quickly, especially with Covid-14 “Solving it once so it’s fine for 20 years” is the required solution.

Councillor Daryl MacLaughlin urged that this issue had to be addressed and resolved ‘in the next year’. “We can’t put it in the backburner.”

A vote was then called, and the motion was carried.
