PEMBROKE — You are going to want to grab your best gal or guy and head over to the Bonnechere Manor Foundation’s 2018 fundraising Gala, celebrating 60 years that the Home has provided quality long-term care services to countless residents from the Renfrew and area communities. The Foundation is pleased to announce that the Gala, quickly becoming Renfrew’s premiere event, will take place on Saturday, October 20th.  Don Goulet, Chair of the Foundation, is excited with the 50s/60s theme in keeping with the Manor’s anniversary, noting that the event includes a welcoming signature drink reception and a four-course catered dinner by “Ullrich’s on Main”.  Mr. Goulet adds that, back by popular demand, guests will be treated to an evening of music and dancing featuring the Ottawa Valley’s own “Ghost Town Cryers”, all for an incredible value of $125 with a tax receipt for $75. “I couldn’t be more proud that the Foundation is honouring the 60th anniversary of Bonnechere Manor.”

A small but hard working volunteer group comprised of Sheila Kemp, Violet Rossy, Jane Valiquette, Dianne Johnston, Erin Wilson and Shelley Sheedy along with Fundraising Co-ordinator Claire Ullrich are busily working to ensure this will be another evening to remember.  The Gala Committee notes that sponsorship opportunities including the signature drink reception, dinner, entertainment and wine are available. The Committee adds that auction items are coming in every day and thank the community for their continued generosity.

Dr. Andrea Di Paolo, the Home’s Medical Director, purchased the first ticket from fundraising co-ordinator Claire Ullrich.

“I encourage the community to support the great work of the Bonnechere Manor Foundation through this Gala in continuing their proud reputation of enhancing the quality of lives for the residents who call the Manor home,” Dr. De Paolo said.

Ms. Ullrich urges guests to get their tickets early –   ‘not only did we sell out last year;  guests who purchase their tickets before August 31, 2018 will have their names entered into a draw for a chance to  win two tickets to see Elton John  at the Scotiabank Place.”

Foundation Chair Goulet advises that proceeds raised will go towards the Home’s long term goal of replacing all the residents’ beds with a state of the art model – to date there are 59 more beds to be replaced, costing approximately $120,000. There are a limited number of tickets available so to ensure you have a spot or for more information, be sure to contact Claire Ullrich at 613 432-4873 Ext. 1252/ [email protected] before August 31st.
