Lars Romeske of Foresters Falls rises out of the water following the mystery trick in the Men’s semi-finals in the Squirt Boat competition. He placed 8th at the 2015 ICF Canoe Freestyle Competition. Matt Hamilton, also of Foresters Falls, placed 9th and Marc Richard of Nova Scotia placed 11th. The winner was US competitor Stephen Wright. In the women’s division, Claire O’Hara of the United Kingdom was first. There were no Canadian competitors. The event took place at McCoys Chute on the Ottawa River near Beachburg.
The other kayaking events will now take place at Garberator. Park behind Whitewater Brewery and take a short walk to the rapid to watch all the action. The finals are on Saturday, which will also include the yellow ducky race and the Redneck Race.
