PEMBROKE — A 64-year-old Madawaska Valley Township resident died at the scene of a motorcycle / car collision near Pembroke on Tuesday, June 14 around 4:45 p.m.
Officerrs from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Greenwood Road in Laurentian Valley Twp. involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle. The collision took place just west of Beachburg Road.
The male driver of the motorcycle, 64-year-old Gysbertus Reym of Madawaska Valley Township, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The lone male driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators is assisting with the investigation. Greenwood Road was closed for several hours following the.
Pembroke and Laurentian Valley Fire Department along with County of Renfrew Paramedic Services assisted at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
