PEMBROKE — After 30 years of service with the OPP, Inspector Mark Wolfe will be retiring later this month.
Inspector Wolfe has served as the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment Commander since December 2014. Inspector Wolfe brought a wealth of experience with him to the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP as he had previously served as the OPP Detachment Commander in Aurora and Bancroft. Over the span of his 30-year policing career he was also stationed at the Beaverton and Kawartha Lakes OPP detachments.
Insp. Wolfe was recently recognized for his work by Pembroke Mayor Mike Lemay and Deputy-Mayor and Pembroke Police Service Board Chairman Ron Gervais.
“I sincerely appreciated the guidance from all the municipal leaders in supporting detachment members in achieving community safety,” said Insp. Wolfe.
As a result of the retirement, Staff Sgt. Karl Duewel will assume the role of Detachment Commander at the rank of Acting Inspector while Sgt. Chris Pinkerton will serve as Operations Manager at the rank of Acting Staff Sergeant. A process is currently underway to determine the next Detachment Commander for the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment.
