Disturbance call leads to arrest, charges

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — On the morning of August 27, at just after 8:00 a.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a disturbance between two people in the 300 block of Miller Street in the City of Pembroke. One of the involved persons was reported to have brandished a weapon.

Police arrested a subject in the area in connection with this incident and recovered an imitation firearm. As a result of this investigation Justin Eric WALKER, age 29 of Pembroke, has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  •  Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Resist a peace officer

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until their next court appearance on August 30, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. Following this incident police executed a search warrant at a residence in the same area on the afternoon of August 27, 2019. The search warrant has not led to further arrests or charges at this time.
