The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region approved the proposal of a Hawkers and Peddlers By-law and an $80 licensing fee for peddlers on municipal property.
Clerk Miller said the by-law is slated for the May 19th meeting.
Councillor Jackson asked if this affected the Taste of the Valley And the Christmas market, which Miller said was an exception, along with the Farmer’s Market.
Councilor Mackay asked if it was only applied on township property, which Miller confirmed.
Mayor Moore asked if that applied to private property, which Miller said might require commercial zoning.
The motion was carried.
