RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) OPP have seized a variety of illegal drugs from a home in Pembroke.
Officers from the UOV Detachment, Street Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit executed a search warrant on Thursday, April 16 at a home on Cecil Street.
Officers seized over 100 suspected Methamphetamine and Oxycodone pills, nearly 200 suspected Percocet pills, Fentanyl patch backings, pieces of suspected Fentanyl patches and other items utilized in the distribution and sale of illegal drugs. They also recovered a variety of stolen property including a bicycle, video game systems and power tools.
Timothy Nicholas Turcotte, age 39 of Pembroke has been charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 , Criminal Code (CC) sec. 354(1)(a); four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, CC sec. 355(b); and three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), sec. 5(2).
Samantha Dawn McLaughlin, age 31 of Pembroke has been charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000, CC sec. 354(1)(a) and three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA – sec. 5(2).
Both accused have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
