Two Whitewater Region young men were honoured during the Annual Ceremonial Review of 2677 Army Cadet Corps. held on Sunday, June 12 at the Pembroke Armouries.

Photo: Master Bombadier Israel Hallock of Beachburg (right) was presented the “Top Senior Marksman Award “by Corporal Smith. MBdr. Hallock was promoted to Sergeant and received his Silver Star as well. Sergeant Hallock, along with other highly skilled cadet marksmen from across Canada and the United Kingdom, will spend six weeks at the Cannaught Ranges in Ottawa. Sgt. Hallock’s parents, Jim and Wendy, thank the 2677 Army Cadet Corps and the wonderful people who volunteer their time with their son and all the young men and women who benefit from having Cadets in our area. “The support and encouragement he has received these few past years has been outstanding,” Ms. Hallock said, adding, “They saw a gift and helped our son develop it.” For more information on the cadets, please check the website 2677cadets.ca Photos submitted
