Lorraine Hamilton received the Citizen of the Year from the Cobden and District Civitan Club during a banquet Saturday evening at the Cobden Legion. She was lured to the Legion on the pretense that a friend was getting the award and was asked to be a guest. She noted she even purchased a congratulatory card for the person. However, when she walked into the Legion and saw her parents, Bill and Neeta Moore, (with her in the photo), and other family members, she figured out who the recipient was most likely going to be. Lorraine is married to Brian Hamilton, mother to Scott and Brett, and is involved in many aspects of community life, including 4-H, the Cobden Agricultural Society (Cobden Fair) and is a teacher at Cobden District Public School.
