PEMBROKE — Nominations are officially open for the 2017 Ottawa Valley Tourism Awards.
The Ottawa Valley Tourism Awards, introduced in 2014, are presented annually by the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA) to participating OVTA members. The Ottawa Valley Tourism Awards are awarded to people, organizations, and events that recognize the importance of working together for the growth of our local tourism industry, as well as offering exceptional visitor experiences.
There are three award categories which recognize success, leadership and innovation in our local tourism industry: the Marilyn Alexander Tourism Champion Award, the Business of Distinction Award, and a Special Event Award.
OVTA members can self nominate or nominate other member businesses and individuals for the awards. A jury panel of two members of the OVTA Board of Directors and a representative selected by the Warden of the County of Renfrew will review all nominations and select the winners. The winners will be announced at the OVTA’s Annual General Meeting in April, 2017.
Nomination forms, award criteria, frequently asked questions and information about past recipients can be found on the OVTA website at www.ottawavalley.travel. Nominations will be accepted until March 17.
The OVTA is the official destination marketing organization for the Upper Ottawa Valley and proudly represents over 230 tourism businesses, comprised of attractions and events, accommodation, dining and retail establishments, rafting companies and outfitters, artists and galleries, as well as media and industry suppliers. The OVTA is proudly supported by the County of Renfrew, Renfrew County municipalities and the City of Pembroke.
