 OPP charge Whitewater Region youth with sex-related offences

WHITEWATER REGION — A teenager from Whitewater Region, who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged regarding sexual offences.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2017 officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP began investigating after receiving information that two females under the age of 16 had been sent sexually explicit pictures.
As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old male from the Township of Whitewater Region has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age – two counts; Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age; and Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunications
The youth was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Youth Court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Thursday, January 25.
