The province-wide effort saw OPP officers focus on ensuring people using our roadways, waterways and trails were making full use of lifesaving equipment and keeping themselves safe through other positive behaviours.
Officers also targeted inattentive drivers, aggressive drivers and alcohol/drug impaired drivers.
Over the course of the traffic safety initiative Upper Ottawa Valley OPP officers laid several charges including 89 speeding charges, 23 seatbelt charges, and one distracted driving charge.
Three drivers were charged under stunt driving legislation for excessive speed and had their licenses suspended and vehicles impounded, both for a period of seven days. Officers also laid three alcohol impaired driving charges under the Criminal Code.
Two Off Road Vehicle drivers were charged with speeding and two were charged with Liquor License Act violations.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP marine patrol officers were also active patrolling area waterways.
Three vessel operators were charged with operating a vessel where prohibited and two people were charged with failing to have a personal floating device.
The marine unit also laid three charges for liquor violations under the Liquor License Act.
