PEMBROKE — Warden Peter Emon was elected by his peers to serve as Warden of Renfrew County for 2015.
The position is elected annually by the members of County Council.
In 2015, there were two candidates who put their name forward for the office of Warden. Incumbent Mr. Eden, Reeve of the Town of Renfrew, and Water Stack, Reeve of the Town of Arnprior.
In a close vote by the members of county council, Reeve Emon received nine votes and Reeve Stack received eight.
Chief Administrative Officer Jim Hutton said both individuals were competent and capable to lead the County of Renfrew as warden and this was reflected in the close outcome of the vote.
Warden Emon acknowledged the contributions of Reeve Stack and called upon all county council members to unite to make the County of Renfrew a county all residents can be proud of.
