On September 17, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College (SWC), is confirming a COVID-19 outbreak at SWC in Barry’s Bay. To date, four students have tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19); three cases in addition to one reported on September 10, 2021. All contacts have been notified and there is no concern about risk to the public or other students and staff at this time.
RCDHU is working closely with SWC to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place. SWC has been cooperative and continues to work proactively to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19 by performing weekly rapid antigen tests on all faculty, staff, and students.

RCDHU is reminding residents to complete the COVID-19 self-assessment tool or COVID-19 school and child care self-assessment tool daily before going to work, school or daycare, to monitor for symptoms and proper guidance.
