Press Release
RCDHU

Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) would like to acknowledge the
tremendous efforts made by community partners, health care workers, and volunteers to
organize and run another successful COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the residents of
Renfrew County and District (RCD). As of March 07, 2022, over 89% of the eligible population
across RCD has received a full series of the COVID-19 vaccine (at least two doses), which is in line
with Ontario’s provincial vaccination rates.

Due to a reduction in demand for the COVID-19 vaccine, mass immunization clinics across RCD
will be decreasing in number and frequency. Pop-up clinics will occur more frequently and on a
walk-in basis (no appointment required), to accommodate residents across RCD to expand
access and reduce barriers to the COVID-19 vaccine. Interested residents can view the latest
COVID-19 vaccination schedule by visiting RCDHU’s COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout webpage or by
monitoring RCDHU’s social media profiles on Facebook and Twitter.
Residents can continue to visit their local pharmacies to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. It is
recommended that you call the pharmacy ahead of time as vaccine supply varies and
appointments may be required.
Even if you have been vaccinated, it is important to continue following public health measures
to keep the community safe; stay home if you are sick, avoid contact with people who are ill,
practice physical distancing (2 metres), wear a mask/face covering when physical distancing
cannot be maintained, wash your hands, use the COVID Alert App, and complete the COVID-19
self-assessment tool or COVID-19 school and child care self-assessment tool daily before going to
work, school or daycare, to monitor for symptoms and proper guidance.
