The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region held its Regular Council Meeting on February 1, at 4:45pm at the Township Municipal Hall in Cobden.
The Council heard four public meetings.
The meeting was broadcast online via Youtube.
The Council Moved into Closed Session at 7:46pm to discuss an active land acquisition.

Mayor Nicholson said that he, Councillor Trimm, and Councillor Tabbert attended the ROMA conference in Toronto.
He said that it was ‘a great way for us to trade business cards’.
He said that Ontario Association of ATVs asked them to continue to allow access to the CN railbed.
“Getting an opportunity to speak with these Ministers is a great opportunity for us.”
Councillor Trimm said he attended all the general audience sessions and highlighted the Retention of Staff Workshop.
“It was brought home to me that we are not alone in this.” He said. “Rural municipalities around Ontario are . We seem to be a stepping stone for people to train for other opportunities, and I learned that that’s normal, and not necessarily a bad thing. I came away with a better understanding of staffing, how to retain staffing.”
Councillor Tabbert said that she spent two days in Councillor training,
“I believe exciting things are coming to our municipality after our eating with Minister Cho.” she said.
Councillor Moore said he attended two meetings at the Pembroke airport, where the ‘major thing of discussion’ was the repaving of the runway, and that they would be ‘hearing more of that in the future.’
Councillor Trimm announced a ‘big breakfast’ on Saturday Morning of 4th in the upstairs of the Westmeath Hall.
Councillor Olmstead said that the Cobden Fishing Derby was delayed until February 18th, and due to that, the forester’s Falls Carnival is delayed to the 19th.
