The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region held a Regular Council Meeting on February 15 at 4:45pm at the Township Municipal Hall in Cobden.
A moment of reflection was held for former Reeve Dave Stewart, who passed away on February 4th.
“Mr. Dave Stewart was a former Reeve of Cobden from 1982 until 2000, and during that time he was also Warden of Renfrew County for two years, 1997 and 1998.” Mayor Neil Nicholson said. “He was a proud volunteer to the rec association of Cobden, a board member of Renfrew County Community Futures, and a Chairman of the Algonquin Forestry Authority. Mr. Stewart just passed away recently, and our condolences on behalf of Council on behalf of his family and friends.”
The meeting was broadcast on Youtube and recorded there as a video.
The meeting included two public meetings, as well as two notices of motion submitted.
Councillor Chris Olmstead declared interest in 6.1 and 6.2, regarding the Kennel By-law Amendment due to potential financial interest
The meeting ended at 7:05 pm to move into closed session due to an acquisition of municipal land.
