The Council of Whitewater Region held their Regular Council Meeting on February 2 at 4:47pm, streamed from a group Zoom call on Youtube.
There were no disclosures of interest.
For announcements Councillor McLaughlin announced that the Fishing Derby was this Saturday at the Cobden Boat Launch, held by the Cobden Civitan Club, saying if ‘anyone needs 50/50 tickets, I can direct them in a positive way’.
Councillor Nicholson said their were a Valentine’s Day Dinner on February 14 hosted by the WDRA in Westmeath, where people ‘can order a takeout roast beef dinner’, with details on the Township webpage.
Mayor Moore said that the Lifeguard Applications for the Township was due February 11.
Councillor McLaughlin put a notice of motion for Township to discuss the fee for dumping ashes, which CAO Trembley said would come back for discussion in a later meeting.
The session minutes and closed session minutes were approved, as were correspondence.
Of note was correspondence on the Joint and Several liability resolution, regarding rising insurance costs due to joint and several liability.
The Council then went into closed session at 6:32pm to discuss an Active Transportation land purchase that was subject to client-solicitor privilege, at which point the livestream ended.
