RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — In response to the expected surge of COVID-19 locally, Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) is appealing to the community for the donation of supplies. They currently have sufficient supplies to meet the needs of their staff and physicians and continue to work with their suppliers, but the hospital wants to be prepared for future demand.
“We’re very grateful for the generous support that the community has always shown RVH, and asking that they continue to support the hospital in these challenging times,” said Randy Penney, President and CEO.
The priorities for donations at this time include personal protection equipment (PPE) such as isolation and procedure masks, N95 respirator masks, non–latex gloves, nitrile gloves, isolation gowns, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, protective visors and safety googles.
Another meaningful way people in the community can help is by volunteering to sew fabric masks which will be used in the appropriate circumstances.
RVH is grateful to those individuals and businesses that have already donated items and ask if you do have unopened or unused supplies to donate, or are able to sew masks, to contact Patti Dillabough, the Executive Director of the RVH Foundation at 613-433-4537 or by email at [email protected] to make arrangements for drop off or for sewing specifications.
RVH asks everyone does their part to help minimize the spread of the virus by following good personal hygiene practices, engaging in social distancing, self-isolating and self-monitoring, and making use of the supports in place in the community before going to the emergency department.
