The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 212 calls for service during the past week.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated nine domestic disputes during the past week. One male was charged with uttering threats, one female was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mgs, mischief, resisting arrest and 2 counts of assault, one male was charged with assault and one male was charged with breach of probation. No other criminal offences were alleged.  If you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. Contact Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice or the safety of a shelter at 1-800-267-4930. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060.  You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. They can be reached at 613-649-2852 or toll free at 1-877-568-5730. In emergencies call 9-1-1.

Impaired Drivers

On Friday, January 18, 2019 at approximately 10:11 p.m., PC Amedeo Jean-Louis stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic offence on White Lake Road in the Village of White Lake. The driver had been drinking and failed a roadside alcohol screening test. Following further tests at the detachment Jade Russett, aged 25 of Arnprior, was charged with driving over80 mgs. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on Wednesday, February 27.

Mischief

Overnight sometime January 17 to 18, someone broke a door knob off a front door at a residence on June Street in Renfrew. PC Janet Guy is investigating.

 A lock was cut and a trailer accessed while the truck and trailer were parked overnight at the Antrim Truck Stop. In the morning on Tuesday, January 15 the transport driver located the damage. He had been asleep in the truck overnight and did not hear the incident. Nothing was stolen. PC Chris Colton is investigating.
