The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated 260 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 6 domestic disputes during the past week.

  • One male was charged with assault and sexual assault.

Impaired Driving

On Friday, April 5, an officer with the Renfrew Detachment responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the Town of Renfrew.  As a result of the investigation Justin Wright, 21 years old of Admaston/Bromley Township, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired. He was released on a promise to appear on Wednesday, May 1 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew.

On Saturday, April 6, an officer with the Renfrew Detachment conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation Jordan Kohoko, 30 years old of Golden Lake, has been charged with impaired driving and over 80mg. He was released on a promise to appear on Wednesday, May 1 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew.

Traffic Enforcement

On Friday, April 5, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the same area. As a result of a traffic stop Jeffrey Cowan, 45 years old of Arnprior was issued a summons for race motor vehicle, excessive speed and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Friday, May 10,.

Also on that date in the same area, as a result of a traffic stop, a 17-year-old male of Arnprior was issued a summons for race motor vehicle, excessive speed.

Assault 

On Saturday, April 6, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an Assault call at a business in Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, Niomy Hogan, 26 years old of Golden Lake has been charged with assault and possession of a schedule one substance. She was released on a promise to appear and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Renfrew on Wednesday, May 22.

Mischief

On Saturday, April 6, an officer with the Renfrew OPP was patrolling Raglan Street South in Renfrew. The officer observed some damage to trees in planters along the street. As a result of an investigation John Pettigrew, 22 years old of Admaston/Bromley Township, has been charged with mischief. He was released on an appearance notice and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on Wednesday, May 1.
