RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 276 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 7 domestic disputes during the past week.

One accused has been charged with assault.    

If you or someone you know is living in or involved in an abusive relationship help is available. Contact Bernadette McCann House 24/7 for support, advice or the safety of a shelter at 1-800-267-4930. The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. They can be reached at 613-649-2852 or toll free at 1-877-568-5730. In emergencies call 9-1-1.

Impaired Driving

On October 13, officers from the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 60 in Admaston/Bromley Township. As a result of a traffic stop Hayley ManNeail-MacCrimmon, 23 years old, of Admaston/Bromley Township has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on November 27.

Break and Enter

On October 7, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a break and enter call in the area of Madawaska Street in Greater Madawaska Township. An unknown suspect entered a construction storage unit and stole multiple tools. Anyone with information regarding this occurrence is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP,

On October 11, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a break and enter call in the area of K and P Trail, Greater Madawaska Township. An unknown suspect entered the property. Anyone with information regarding this occurrence is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP.       

Assault

On October 13, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to an unwanted person call in Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, Marc Dewar-Carriere, 31 year old of Quebec, has been charged with uttering threats, three counts of assault and two counts of mischief. The accused was held for a bail hearing on October 14.

On October 13, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a Family Dispute call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, Shayne Brash, 31 years old of Renfrew has been charged with assault. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on November 6. Further Mark Hamilton, 52 years old of Renfrew has been charged with mischief and assault a peace officer. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on November 6.

Bail Violations

On October 12, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of a traffic stop Cornelius Vanderwal, 60 years old of Kingston has been charged with fail to comply with recognizance. The accused was held for a bail hearing on October 13.

Mischief

On October 7, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a mischief call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, Kyle Gilmore 40 year old of Horton Township has been charged with mischief under $5000.00. The accused was released on an appearance notice.
