RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 218 calls for service.

Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 12 domestic disputes during the past week. One accused has been charged with assault, and one accused has been charged with two counts of fail to comply with probation order.

The Women’s Sexual Assault Centre of Renfrew County is also available 24/7 for information and support at 1-800-663-3060. You could also attend the emergency department of any hospital in Renfrew County and ask to speak to a member of the Assault Response Team. Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. Impaired Driving 
On January 28, an officer from the Renfrew OPP Detachment was conducting traffic enforcement on Daniel Street South in the Town of Arnprior. As a result of a vehicle stop, Stacey Robertson, 34 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with impaired driving and blood alcohol over 80. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on March 4.

On January 30, an officer from the Renfrew OPP Detachment was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 41 in Greater Madawaska Township. As a result of a vehicle stop, Brandon Rogers, 36 years old, of Greater Madawaska Township has been charged with impaired driving, blood alcohol over 80, personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice, obstruct peace officer and fail to comply with probation order. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on March 4.

Mischief
On February 2, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a mischief call in White Water Region Township. As a result of an investigation a 13 year old has been charged with mischief under $5 thousand. The accused was released on an Appearance Notice.

Threats
On February 3, officers with the Renfrew OPP responded to a threats call in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of an investigation, Brain Jackson, 59 years old of Renfrew has been charged with uttering threats and fail to comply with appearance notice. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on March 4.     

Snow on Vehicles     
The Renfrew OPP is urging motorists to consider other travellers safety and remove snow and ice from their vehicles prior to travelling. The OPP have investigated collisions where ice flying off moving vehicles has struck other motorists. This can cause serious damage not only to other vehicles but also to motorists and pedestrians. Drivers can face charges should ice or snow flying off their vehicle damage another vehicle.
