RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated 185 calls for service last week.

Domestic Violence
Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated nine domestic disputes during the past week. One accused has been charged with fail to comply with probation order.

Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. Impaired Driving 
On April 19, officers with the Renfrew OPP Detachment were responding to a call for service when a vehicle was observed travelling with the vehicle lights off. A traffic stop was initiated and as a result, Jordan Brazeau, 28 years old of the Town of Renfrew, has been charged with impaired driving, over 80 and fail to comply with probation order. The accused was released on an Undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 3.

Other Criminal Code
On April 14, an officer with the Renfrew OPP conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Renfrew. As a result of the investigation, William Young, 35 years old of Laurentian Valley Township, has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited. The accused was released on an Undertaking to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 17.

Sexual Assault
On April 16, officers with the Renfrew OPP received information of a sexual assault. As a result of an investigation, a 53 year old accused has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of fail to comply with release order, two counts of sexual interference, two counts of sexual exploitation, two counts of assault and one count of invitation to sexual touching. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Drug Call
On April 17, members of the Renfrew County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit executes a warrant at a residence located in Horton Township. As a result of the investigation John Clouthier, 29 years old of Horton Township, and Vicky Bonin, 34 years old of Horton Township, have both been charged with two counts of Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled drugs and Substance Act (CDSA), two counts of Possession of a schedule one substance contrary to section 4(1) CDSA and two counts Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.00 contrary to section 354(1)a of the Criminal code of Canada. Both accused parties were released on Undertakings to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on June 17. 

Emergency Order Reminder
The Renfrew OPP would like to remind the public that under the Emergency Measures and Civil Protection Act, all organized public events of over five people are prohibited, including parades, events including weddings, social gatherings and communal services within places of worship. These prohibitions apply to an event or gathering even if it is held at a private dwelling.
