RENFREW – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police investigated 237 calls for service.

Domestic Violence

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 10 domestic disputes during the past week.

• One accused has been charged with one count of assault

• One accused had been charged with fail to comply with undertaking

Victim Services of Renfrew County is also available to provide emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced domestic violence. Impaired Driving

• On July 17, officers with the Renfrew OPP Detachment responded to a call to check on the well-being of a male. In an effort to locate the male, officers conducted patrols in the Town of Arnprior. A vehicle was located on Ottawa Street and pulled over for further investigation. As a result of the investigation, Stephen Larose, 67 years old, of the Town of Arnprior has been charged with impaired driving, and driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80. The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 16, 2020.

• On July 18, officers with the Renfrew OPP Detachment were dispatched to a traffic complaint on

Stone Road, Admaston-Bromley Township. The vehicle was located on Whelan Road and pulled over for further investigation. As a result of the investigation, Leim MARTINELL, 26 years old, of Admaston-Bromley Township has been charged with impaired driving, driving with blood alcohol concentration over 80 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 16, 2020.

Mischief

• Sometime between the night of July 14, 2020 and July 15, 2020 Walter Zadow School in the Town of Arnprior was vandalized. The investigation is still continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP.

Uttering Threats

• On July 13, 2020 officers with the Renfrew OPP detachment were dispatched to Haley Road in the Town of Renfrew to assist Renfrew Paramedic Services with a combative male. As a result of the investigation Jayson PEARCE, 50 years old of the Town of Renfrew has been charged with utter threats and assaulting a peace officer. The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on September 16, 2020.
