COBDEN – Rooney’s Gas bar in Cobden has a new owner, and new features coming in the following years.
Sam Saif purchased the store on July 28th, and renamed it Fazi Enterprises, after his wife, after coming to the community and learning that the owners planned to retire.
“I’ve been here for five weeks, and i haven’t seen a single bad person.” Sam said. “Everyone is nice.”
Sam is originally from Toronto, where he worked for Smart Convenience for 4 years.
Saif intends to extend the store’s hours to around 6pm, as well as add fast food facilities to the convenience store.
“Things are running pretty good.”
The cashier on duty that day, Joanne (she requested her last name or picture not be printed), said she’s been happy with the changeover.
“He’s nice.” she said about Sam. “Everyone seems to like him.”
