Second teen charged with mischief

RENFREW COUNTY (Petawawa) — On July 2, the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating an occurrence of criminal mischief at a Town of Petawawa park located at the corner of Murphy Road and Petawawa Boulevard in the Town of Petawawa. 

Town staff called police to report that two deer statutes in the park had been significantly damaged between July 1 and July 2.  In August a 15 year old youth from Pembroke was charged with one count of mischief over $5 thousand under the Criminal Code (CC). 

On September 25, a second 15 year old youth, from the Town of Petawawa, was arrested and charged with one count of mischief over $5 thousand under the CC in relation to this incident. 

The Young Person was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Youth Division – in Pembroke on October 24.
