Saturday is shaping up to be an exciting day with the 2 nd t taking place at the Petawawa Civic Centre in support of the Robbie Dean
Counselling Centre.

“Leach & Kuehl Professional Corporation is very proud to be the sponsor of this event,” says local lawyer and slo-pitch umpire Ian Kuehl. “I am happy to be able to mix my
umpiring capabilities with my charity work as Vice Chair of the Robbie Dean Counselling Centre. Being on the Board of the RDCC is such an incredibly important position to me
and being able to give back to an organization that spends literally every moment of its existence supporting those in need of mental health and addiction assistance in our
local community is personally very rewarding. The fact of the matter is, small cities and towns are built on the backs of charitable and service organizations and we should
count ourselves lucky to have so many organizations and thousands of volunteers behind our local community.”

Monique Yashinskie, Executive Director of the RDCC, says that she too is “excited to have this slo-pitch tournament return as a Robbie Dean Counselling Centre fundraising
event. Getting outdoors and keeping active is one of many personal techniques that people can use to help keep up their positivity and mental wellbeing.”

This year marks the Robbie Dean Counselling Centre’s 10th Anniversary and this weekend’s event is just another way to celebrate that amazing milestone. Events have been planned for every month this year with more announcements still to come.

At its inception in 2013, the RDCC offered walk-in services for four hours per week in Pembroke and four hours per week in Renfrew.

Today, the RDCC offers intakes and
short-term counselling programming five days per week as well as Anger Management Groups, Anxiety & Depression Groups, Grief and Loss Groups, Trauma Recovery Groups and a Senior’s Legacy Group.

Over ten years, the RDCC has proudly served over 4,100 clients – including over 800 clients in 2022 alone.

This work is not done alone, however, it is accomplished as a direct result of a lot of hard work, many
volunteers, generous donations and huge community support for which everyone at the Centre is tremendously grateful and honoured to receive.
