The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region met for a special Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 29th in the Municipal Town Hall in Cobden at 9am.
The opening of the meeting was public, and broadcast on Youtube as a livestream before going into closed session.
The meeting addressed the postponement of arena ice operations in Beachburg until Fall of 2024, due to the state of repair, and also summarized the 2022 Municipal Election.
In addition, Councillor Chris Olmstead was sworn in as Councillor, as he was not present at the last meeting, and will take an official photo with the rest of Council in the next meeting on December 7.

The meeting went into closed session for an Education and Training session:
“That Council of the Township of Whitewater Region move in to closed session at :_ p.m. as permitted under Section 9.1b (educating and training of the members), for general council orientation by staff, with the CAO/Deputy Clerk and Managers/ Superintendents remaining in the room.”
