RENFREW — The People’s Party of Canada (PPC) has arrived in the federal riding of Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke in November with the creation of the People’s Party of Canada Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Electoral District Association.

With the creation of the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Electoral District Association (Riding Association), over 85 percent of Canada’s 338 ridings now have a People’s Party of Canada Electoral District Association established in order to support local candidates in the upcoming election. The People’s Party of Canada aims to have all 338 ridings organized by the end of the year.

The People’s Party of Canada Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Electoral District Association will be getting together with residents of the riding at Renfrew Public Library on Saturday, December 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.; at the Arnprior Public Library on Monday, Dec. 10 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a third one at the Pembroke Public Library on Saturday, December 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Further meetings will be scheduled in other communities across the riding.

Neil Killips, President of the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Electoral District Association, noted the grassroots aspect of the People’s Party and urged all residents of the riding to come to at least one of the meetings.

“I am excited that we now have a real alternative, so If you want to learn more about the Party, or if you want to volunteer for one of many positions, or even if you want to be a candidate in the Federal election next year then these meetings are for you,” he said, adding, “We have a lot of work to do and are actively looking for volunteers to help us reform the ‘business-as-usual’ attitude in Ottawa.”
