Tour de Whitewater is in July
WHITEWATER REGION (Westmeath) — The all-new Planning Committee for the 2019 Tour de Whitewater is hard at work preparing for another cycling experience in the beautiful Whitewater Region. Whether grey skies or sunshine, the 3rd annual Tour de Whitewater cycling event, hosted by the Westmeath & District Recreation Association (WDRA) takes place Saturday, July 6.
It will bring together hundreds of cyclists (sports enthusiasts, recreational riders and families) to tour the beautiful routes of Whitewater Region. Varying distances for anyone and everyone, with routes from 10kms to 150kms will begin and end in Westmeath.

The day begins with an optional “Big Breakfast” in the Arena Hall. After the ride a BBQ lunch will be provided, along with a ‘New Balance’ Tech Shirt as part of the registration package. For the sake of cyclists who come from away, this year’s day will be extended beyond lunchtime to include music, craft beers/spirits, poutine and ice cream. People from the ommunity are more than welcome to participate in all the festivities.
All profits from this event will be designated to the building of a new Community Active Living Rest Stop, which will accommodate all visitors to Westmeath. Again, see the Blogspot for details.
