Jordan Durocher, manager of Parks and Recreation, said the Township was looking at exploring a one-year agreement with the Whitewater Kings, a CCHL Tier 2 hockey club.

The team has been with the Township for three years, but sought to move

“The Whitewater Kings do not wish to utilize rinkboard and wall-advertising opportunities.” he said.

User fees will increase consistent with the schedule approved by council.

The Kings have expressed need for additional practice time and moving their practice time. Includes an out-clause and Covid-19 guidelines set out by the Township.

Durocher said that Kings are in good financial standing with the Township, and Durocher anticipated an October 1st start date.

“The Whitewater Kings prime time ice will be at the new rate of $183.48/hr along with the day time practice rate of $138.40/hr and a minor hockey rate of $121.50/hr”, Durocher said.

The Township presented the agreement and are waiting for Alex Armstrong, owner of the Kings to sign the agreement.
