WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — It was decided last night at the Council meeting for the Township of Whitewater Region, to enact a by-law to enter into an agreement with the Whitewater Kings for the 2019-2020 hockey season.
According to Jordan Durocher, Manager of Recreation and Tourism, the Township entered into a two-year agreement with the Whitewater Kings Junior Tier II Team in 2017. The two-year agreement ended on May 3, which allowed the Township to fully understand both the team and Township’s needs.
A draft agreement has been created and the next step is to acquire signatures from both parties and to provide a copy to the team. The Whitewater Kings is under new ownership and announced in June they hired a new head coach, Gord Goldberg.
