Whitewater Region resident facing drug charges

Patrol officers seize drugs, make arrests

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — On the afternoon of April 3, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol when they stopped to investigate a parked vehicle in the 300 block of Pembroke Street East in the City of Pembroke. Officers observed drugs in the vehicle and arrested three people at the scene.

As a result of this investigation, Alisha Lemaire, age 35 of Whitewater Region Township, has been charged with the following CDSA and CC offences: possession of oxycodone, a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking; and two counts of fail to comply with probation. Joshua Harrington, age 37 of Laurentian Valley Township, has been charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code (CC) charges: possession of a schedule I for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; and two counts of fail to comply with probation. Andrew Brunette, age 36 of Bonnechere Valley Township, has been charged with the following CDSA offences: possession of cocaine, a schedule I substance; and possession of hydromorphone, a schedule I substance. 

All three accused persons were released to attend court on June 9 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
