Planner Ivan Burton presented a zoning by-law amendment, for 224 Sturgeon Mountain Road, which was submitted by Melvin and Lynne Langton.
He said the property contained a ‘grain-drying facility’ including six grain bins, four accessory buildings, and a weight scale.
“They’re planning to move the business as part of a succession plan entirely to this 5-acre property.” he said. “The zoning amendment is to position the property in an exception zone of the agricultural plan.”
He said that Miller Feed and Seeds applied for a similar application years ago as a precedent.
He said the zoning wouldn’t inhibit the agricultural use of the surrounding lands.
Burton said they did receive an email from an adjacent landowner, but they had received response and ‘withdrew the application.”
Melvin Langton was present via Zoom, said he as present for any questions.
There were no questions, and the motion was carried.
