LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP. — On the afternoon of January 24, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to a shoplifting complaint from a large retail store in Laurentian Valley Township. Store staff reported that a male and female suspect stole a significant quantity of electronics, clothing and grocery items and left the scene in an SUV. That same afternoon police located and stopped the vehicle in west end Pembroke. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested in relation to the theft. The stolen goods were recovered.

47-year-old Laurie Laure and 39-year-old Charles Stencil-Hahn, both of Pembroke, are each charged with one count of theft under $5000 – shoplifting, contrary to the Criminal Code.

Both were released on promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Tuesday, February 19.
